Slew rate mod voyager

Although the Voyager is not currently in production, the slew rate mod is still available. Result: I like it. It doesn't drastically change the sound - but if you ever heard a vintage Minimoog with the filter wide open, the slew rate mod gets you closer to that high end vintage "sheen".

The slew rate mod helps a little, but I've only heard from the Voyager vs Voyager Slew mod videos. Maybe someone can do a new Model D vs Voyager slew mod comparison. Overall, the new Model D sounds like what I expected in comparison.

There is a mod for for it now called the slew rate mod but I have not tried it and I sold my Voyager after being unable to shake the disappointment. Great synth on its own, but not a replacement for the vintage sound. Lots of things get close, but for "that" sound you still have to go vintage or drop a big pile of cash in a modular or Macbeth. The slew rate mod also opens up the sound on the voyager. All things considered though if you are going for a mono with no presets id be inclined to go with the mini D which also has midi and CV. level 1 Jupiter 8 - Matriarch - OB6 - TR8s - BigSky - Hypnosis 1 point · 2 years ago The Voyager is more expensive but far better built than the Matrix. The Matrix is more versatile I think. I recently did the Slew Rate mod for £75 (or so) here in London to give it a bit more bite with the filter fully open… it makes a difference for sure, particularly if you are after more of a Model D sound. The Voyager offers a LOT more than the Moog Model D feature wise, and if you slew rate mod it (as I have) it takes on a new lease of life. I still want a Behringer Model D for that classic D sound (which it has as Ive played one extensively). My vote goes to the Voyager plus Behringer D. A huge amount of power between those two.

Moog Voyager - slew rate modification comparison Hi, Oliver and myself yesterday compared a Moog Voyager 2012 coming from the factory to a "slew rate" modified Moog RME [slew rate mod by Rudi Linhard of Lintronics].

I have not played the One yet, but spent some time with the Model D and own the Voyager with the slew rate mod. The Voyager has a slightly deeper synthesis than the D and a more modern programming style. (modulation busses and variable waveforms adsr envelopes etc.) The sound can be both super smooth or in that nasty Model D territory.

It was built from 2002 to 2015 in about 14,000 instruments. The end of this iconic new Moog was announced on the 30th of September 2015. My Voyager is equipped with the Rudi Linhard Lintronics Slew-Rate Modification for a more brighter and more vintage like oscillator sound. Some OP-amps and capacitors of the analog board were limiting the higher frequency content of the oscillators.

The slew rate (AKA "rise time") is the speed at which the gradient reaches its maximum amplitude. Slew rate is measured in millitesla per meter per microsecond (mT/m/ms). The higher the slew rate, the thinner the anatomical slice, which means higher clarity in the image produced.

I'm almost 100% certain I'm going to get the slew rate mod done to my Voyager, along with a couple other things, when I go to Ashville. does anyone here have some sound demos of before and after the mod ? I know there was a post up a while ago with some demos but they are not active links any more. thanks! And along with this topic, has anyone done the slew rate mod, and do they think it made a significant difference in the sound of their Voyager?
